Last week the Department for Transport (DfT) confirmed that it was creating a new initiative to help fund the adoption of efficient and environmentally friendly buses across the UK.In total £48 million will be available under the Ultra-Low Emission Bus Scheme, with several funding rounds opening up over the course of the next three years to help distribute it evenly to councils and private operators nationwide.Organisations that apply for a share of the cash will be able to claim up to half of the cost of buying buses designed to produce much lower emissions than traditional diesel-powered equivalents. ...
