The Range T High is set to launch in the UK and Ireland in the near future – the first time that a right-hand-drive edition of this truck has been sold. To celebrate its arrival, Renault Trucks has kick-started a creative X Tractor competition which also seeks to build up a bit of publicity surrounding its latest creation.
The social media-friendly #X_Tractor project will allow submissions from any over-18s in the country, enabling them to come up with the most inventive possible design for the livery which will be displayed with pride upon 10 demonstrator vehicles that will be doing the rounds over the next year.
The competition will be open until the 16th of November, and entries can be sent in to various Renault Trucks accounts, including on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
Interestingly enough, the idea is not to allow the entrants to provide original artwork of their own design. Instead, they will be able to post comments which include suggestions as to the themes that would be suitable for the livery that will adorn each of the trucks.
Company spokesperson Alex Williams said that the Range T High was sure to be an attention-grabbing arrival on the UK truck market, which is why Renault decided to create this competition in recognition of its aesthetic impact. He said that this project would not only appeal to people who are already customers of the company but also to a wider audience across social media, bolstering the brand’s impact, which is always important.
Submissions & Prizes:
From all of the submissions a shortlist of five prospective participants will be chosen, each of whom will be gifted a number of Renault-branded products in recognition of their achievement. Only one will be selected from this group to take home the top prize, which not only includes having the livery they helped to design become a reality but also clothing and a £200 gift card to use with Renault Trucks.
The Range T High aims to deliver class-leading comfort for long-haul transport duties across the UK and the rest of Europe, with increased space within the cab and various innovations making it a better environment for work, rest and leisure while out on the road.
Renault points out on its official website for the right-hand-drive Range T High that there are tens of thousands of HGV driving positions currently going unfilled in the UK at the moment, so operators that want to hang on to talented professionals will be better off if they invest in a model like this, which keeps drivers happy.
Furthermore, the cutting-edge Step C 13 litre engine found on board this new model is more efficient and eco-friendly than any earlier power plant, providing plenty of power while still complying with the latest emissions regulations. The long-term cost of ownership should be kept to a minimum, and it will make a good option on the used truck market further down the line.
