Combi vans are standard vans with an extra row of seats behind. Some operators use the German spelling of Kombi van, whilst others choose to call them window vans. Some combi vans are as basic as the addition of an extra row of seats to the existing floor, you can add extra windows in the sliding doors to give the rear passengers a better view.
It is important to consider the safety of the rear passengers and install a bulkhead to prevent accidents. Many of the later Combi vans, especially the VW Transporter step up the luxury levels, aiming the Transporter Combi as an alternative to the family car, rather than a workhorse taking builders to a site.
