Used Iveco Eurocargo Box Vans for Sale

2.5 Average

There are various ways that manufacturers go about attacking the box van marketplace, but in the case of Iveco and the Eurocargo range achieving victory is all about giving operators the broadest selection of body variants, chassis set-ups and engine options.

This means that when buying a used Eurocargo box van you will find vehicles with various wheelbases, payload capacities and integrated features weighing in at between 7.5 and 18 tonnes.

With all these variations on offer, it is necessary to pay attention to the specifications and make sure you know what you want out of a box van so that the Eurocargo model you select is appropriate and not just within budget.

Choice of Rear Doors Important

The box body of these Eurocargo models is built for durable distribution work, with barn doors or a roller shutter at the rear. The latter offers easier access when the amount of room is restricted in some way, while the former is an affordable, reliable and secure set-up to select if space is not going to be a concern for drivers. Some examples will also provide side access via a sliding door, which can help these box vans to match curtainsiders in terms of ease of access.

Is a Tail Lift Required?

A tail lift will also be encountered on most used models because of the ease with which rear access is provided by this piece of equipment. 7.5 tonne Eurocargo box vans will typically have a tail lift that can manage loads weighing up to 1000 kilos, while their larger siblings will benefit from 1500kg of lifting power. Without a working tail lift, the practicality of a box van will be seriously impacted, so make sure this is working when buying a used model, as it is not worth leaving anything to chance.

Eurocargo Engines

Engine power comes courtesy of Euro-compliant machinery that helps prevent harmful emissions from building up while simultaneously avoiding unnecessary fuel consumption. On the used market, various Eurocargo box vans from previous years are available, so engine technology, efficiency and power outputs can vary. Current models offer around 160hp for 7.5 tonne units, while 250hp or even 320hp are available from the more powerful engines.

Automatic Gearboxes now Available

Drivers can choose auto gearboxes to make driving in urban environments a bit easier, while ergonomic dash features, dials and controls help them to unlock the true potential of the modern box van design offered up by Iveco. The latest models even feature Bluetooth connectivity within the radio unit, meaning calls can be made safely and media streamed wirelessly to the in-cab speakers from a compatible smartphone. Day cabs are most common amongst the more compact Eurocargo box vans, but the bigger models do come with sleeper cab variants and benefits such as night heaters for when overnight stops are unavoidable or indeed desirable.

The condition of a used Iveco Eurocargo box van is integral to its saleability, and so you have the right to request an inspection if you want to ensure that things such as the engine, brakes, tyres, electrics and chassis have withstood wear and tear well.
