Given that the tipper system not only has to handle the weight of the trailer itself, but also a full load, it's important to look out for potential problems when buying a used bulk blowing trailer.
Other areas to turn your eye to when buying a used bulk blowing trailer truck include the tractor unit, if one is included in the deal, as well as the valves and other gauges attached to the trailer’s blowing system. Optional extras on some models include alloy wheels, which are lightweight and sturdy but can show signs of heavy use. This needs to be taken into account when negotiating on price. There may even be a digital means of providing an instant look at the weight of the load on board, which is convenient and potentially a valuable asset in any used vehicle of this kind.
The trailer will often allow for overhead loading, and they often contain more than one compartment, which helps to keep the load effectively separated and safely stored during transit. This even means that different types of material can be stored within without mixing them. Although made from alloy or steel, the trailer’s top can be lighter and more flexible so that it can easily and quickly be removed. This could be damaged over time, so ensure that there are no weak spots or obvious holes that might need to be patched up to prevent inclement weather conditions from spoiling the load beneath.
Aside from the specialist parts and features of bulk blowing trailes, using some common sense when checking over the more generic components is similarly sensible. Looking for damage to the axles and undercarriage is important, as is considering the state of the tyres, suspension and steering.
