About the Renault Premium
Even at low engine speeds, braking power is 160 kW at 1,500 rpm.
The retarders
Two models of retarder are available: the Intarder for manual gearboxes, and the Voith for OptiDriver II - giving the Renault Premium, for sale at www.trucklocator.co.uk, Long Distance the very best in deceleration power.
A power of 500 kW enables the retarders to provide constant braking power when changing gears.
Activated by a lever on the left-hand side under the steering wheel, the retarders can of course be coupled to the brake pedal and cruise control.
The drive axles
Two new drive axles are available for the new Renault Premium, for sale at www.trucklocator.co.uk, Long Distance: the P 13170 single reduction drive axle, and the P 1395 double reduction drive axle for more demanding uses. These two drive axles require only minimal servicing, with oil changes every 240,000 km and even more effective anticorrosion protection. Differential lock is available as an option.
The Power Takeoffs
In order to meet the needs of the various activities and applications the new Renault Premium, for sale at www.trucklocator.co.uk, Long Distance is used for, Renault Trucks has extended and improved its range of power takeoffs.
These new power takeoffs stand out for their reliability and simplicity of use.
A contactor detecting when the power takeoff is engaged gives a constant visual indication that it is operational. A new seal provides optimal protection for the gearbox and eliminates the risk of oil leaks. Use of these power takeoffs is secured and electronically controlled, being activated
by a switch on the driving position. Furthermore, it can only be activated when in neutral gear and with the parking brake applied.
In addition, Renault Trucks offers hauliers the possibility of choosing how and when the power takeoffs are engaged/disengaged. These parameters can be adapted by the bodybuilder: for example, programming operation with a gear engaged so that the PTO can be used while the vehicle is in motion.
Finally, changing gear while the PTO is operating is not possible in order to protect
the powertrain. The choice of different power takeoffs is available to match different types of need:
81B and C for connecting to a transmission or flanged hydraulic pump, the higherpowered
84B and C, and the N221/10B and C offering the highest power.
And finally, Renault Trucks is launching a new high-power PTO, available on OptiDriver II, and the possibility of installing 2 PTO's on the same vehicle, with the possibility of engaging them independently. All these power takeoffs can of course be adapted for use with the OptiDriver II
gearbox.
