About the Iveco Eurocargo
It is made of Sheet Moulding Compound with internal ribbing, stiff and strong but light for easy raising and lowering.
The new colours for the bodywork and furnishings create a fresh and modern range.
The bodyshell has been made stiffer and stronger by cross beams and longitudinals with a larger section. Galvanised steel panels and the use of plastics make the cab extremely resistant to corrosion. The windscreen is bonded in place which helps to increase the overall rigidity of the cab and maintain the perfect air- and water-tightness for longer.
All the 2-axle 4X2 models are equipped with disc brakes with ABS and brake effort distribution. Front under-run protection is standard equipment on all models above 7.5 tonnes, while it is optional on lighter vehicles. This steel bar, positioned transversely behind the bumper, prevents cars or other objects from being trapped under the vehicle in the event of an accident.
In addition to the speed limiter dictated by legislation, the Eurocargo also has a programmable speed limiter, which the driver can set according to the type of route; he just has to take the vehicle to the desired speed and press the appropriate button on the console.
A pushbutton on the console selects the most appropriate of the 3 engine brake activation modes (releasing the accelerator, depressing the service brake, or pressing the special pedal), depending on the vehicle’s particular mission.
The following recommended intervals have been extended:
* up to 80,000 km for oil and filter changes
* every 2 years for the coolant.
A driver making deliveries may have to get in and out of his truck up to 55 times in 7 hours.
Getting in and out of all the Eurocargo cabs requires minimal effort, thanks to:
* 1 step just 50 cm from the ground on the 7.5 to 12 tonne versions
* only 2 steps on the 12 to 18 tonne versions
* two long, ergonomic vertical grab handles, one on either side of the doorway
on all versions, convenient for drivers of all statures.
Every time the door is opened, spotlights illuminate the steps and the surrounding area.
The door opens effortlessly and noiselessly, an advantage when making night-time deliveries in residential areas.
It is easy to cross the cab because there are no obstacles in the way.
The driving position of the Eurocargo guarantees a comfortable posture even for the very tall or the very short. The steering wheel adjusts for both height and rake. It combines with the height-adjustable sprung seat, to accommodate a wide range of drivers of either sex.
The passenger seat is available as:
* single seat with the same settings and functions as the driver’s seat
* two-seater bench with split squab.
The central part of the bench squab folds down to become a table, with recesses for cans, pens or cutlery, and a surface on which to write or eat.
The fascia is made more attractive with the use of aluminised detailing and more comfortable with soft-touch plastics.
It incorporates three new modules:
* the innovative instrument and LCD cluster which also displays vehicle
maintenance and diagnostics information, from the engine oil level to upcoming programmed maintenance deadlines
* the central console, which houses all the switches needed for easy, ergonomic use and which has numerous spaces available for further buttons according to equipment requirements
* the air conditioning and heater controls.
The Eurocargo cab is cool in the Summer and warm in the Winter, thanks to the efficient climate system and its practical rotary controls.
Noise is low and muffled, thanks to various factors:
* the quietness inherent in the Tector engine
* the painstaking work done to identify sources of noise and vibration of various types and to neutralise them;
* the cab interior is upholstered with a robust cotton material, which is extremely sound absorbent as well as being elegant and pleasant to touch.
This allows the driver to converse with the passenger without difficulty and to enjoy music on the sound system.
The Eurocargo is wired for:
* 4 speakers
* 24 v supply for the radio
* the aerial cable
Storage compartments.
For the driver:
* Above the windscreen there are 4 DIN compartments, one of which is occupied by the tachograph, the others being available for a radio, CB unit, CD player and other electrical and electronic devices

Access to the engine
A large amount of basic information about the way the vehicle is operating is displayed on the monitor of the on-board computer right in front of the driver.
Engine oil pressure is constantly monitored as is its level when the engine is started.
The engine is accessed by tilting the cab and the radiator grille no longer needs to be lifted before tilting.
Sleeping on board.

The large locker underneath holds the pillow, blankets or sleeping bag and personal effects and it is accessed by lifting part of the mattress.
A second upper bunk is available on request. For lengthy missions, when the driver spends several nights on board, there is a third extremely comfortable option: the intermediate bunk 75 cm wide, which opens with a simple manoeuvre to make more width available .
